Laab is the national dish of Laos and there are many variations of laab like laab diip. It is made from raw beef and is layered wit delicious Lao flavors like khao khua roasted sticky rice, bile, padaek, and lots of fresh herbs. You will find many adults enjoying this delicious dish.
Is it safe to eat raw beef?
It is safe to eat raw beef as long as you know how to prepare and source it. It is best to source raw beef from a butcher to make sure it is fresh. The most fresh raw beef is when our families butcher their own beef. Many Lao elders hold the knowledge and technique of butchering their own cow.

- In a large bowl add the meat, fish sauce, unfiltered fish sauce, beef bile, ½ tsp msg, and mix
- Add cooked tripe and sticky rice powder, crushed dried chili pepper, lime leaves, galangal, lime, and mix
- Shallots, green onions, cilantro, and mix
